Getting around Zichron Yaakov: trains, buses and Shabbat

Zichron has no train station: how to reach Binyamina and Caesarea-Pardes Hanna by bus, the main intercity lines, paying with Rav-Kav, planning apps and what to expect on Shabbat.

Zichron Yaakov has no railway station. You reach the train by bus, and nothing runs on Shabbat. Line and stop details below come from the Ministry of Transport timetable (GTFS) for Thursday 8 October 2026, via the Open Bus Stride API (opens in a new tab); timetables change, so check before you travel.

Trains

  • Binyamina is the nearest station (the council's English transport page (opens in a new tab) says so too). On a weekday about 150 trains call there, towards Tel Aviv, Modi'in, Ashkelon, Rehovot, Haifa and Nahariya.
  • Buses from Zichron to Binyamina: Kavim 701 (from HaNarkis/HaSavyon, about every 50 minutes, first around 05:10 and last around 23:15), plus Superbus 156 and 157 and Kavim 693 and 694.
  • Caesarea-Pardes Hanna station is reached by Egged 202, which runs between Haifa and Pardes Hanna-Karkur through Zichron.
  • Israel Railways information: rail.co.il (opens in a new tab), phone *5770.

Intercity buses

On a weekday the main options from Zichron are:

  • Hadera: Kavim 70, about every 20 minutes (06:25-23:00), from HaNadiv/HaMeyasdim.
  • Tel Aviv: Egged 826 (Nof HaGalil-Tel Aviv) stops at Shfeya junction, about every 30 minutes; Egged 845 leaves from the Zichron interchange rest stop.
  • Ramat Gan: Nateev Express 978 (a few trips a day), and 980 from Shfeya junction.
  • Haifa: Egged 202 and Kavim 768; Egged 921 has a few morning trips from the Mall Zichron stop.
  • Netanya: Kavim 710 (about 10 trips a day).
  • Caesarea: Kavim 263, three late-evening trips Sunday-Thursday.

Several of these stop on Route 4 (Mall Zichron) or at Shfeya junction rather than in the town centre.

Inside Zichron

Egged and Kavim run the local lines (Egged 1, 2, 3 and others, Kavim 5 and 90). Some low-numbered lines run only a few school-day trips.

Paying and planning

Shabbat and local quirks

  • No regular buses or trains from Friday afternoon to Saturday night.
  • Ramat HaNadiv's entrance is on Route 652 between Zichron and Binyamina (Ramat HaNadiv (opens in a new tab)); Egged 202 and Superbus 156/157 stop at the gardens (stop "Ganei Ramat HaNadiv/652").
  • Electronic enforcement has applied on HaDagan and HaNadiv streets in the centre since 2 August 2026, and the council closes HaNadiv St during big events such as the wine festival (council news (opens in a new tab)).
  • Parking at Park HaMoshava is paid every day 07:00-22:00 (Park HaMoshava (opens in a new tab)).
