Students, gap year and lone soldiers
Zichron has no university or army base of its own, so students, lone soldiers and Sherut Leumi volunteers here mostly commute: Binyamina station is a short bus ride away, with trains towards Tel Aviv and Haifa. Local organisations offer Hebrew study, volunteering and cheap days out.

Commute by bus and train
Kavim 701 and other lines link Zichron with Binyamina station; Egged 202 runs to Caesarea-Pardes Hanna station. There is no Shabbat service.

Hebrew for young adults
Kibbutz Ma'agan Michael, just north of Zichron, runs a five-month intensive ulpan for young adults (levels Aleph to Daled).

Lone soldier support
The Lone Soldier Center in memory of Michael Levin is the national organisation for lone soldiers; Zichron has no local branch that we could find.

Free entry to Ramat HaNadiv
Entry is free for everyone, and parking is free for soldiers in compulsory service who show their card.

Volunteer locally
The council's English volunteering page lists Yad Ezer, Keren Kamah, Food for Families, the PUSH tutoring programme, Ramat HaNadiv and ESRA.

The council gives active reservists the maximum 5% arnona discount (council decision of 5 June 2018).

Check the last train and bus times before a night out: Kavim 701 to Binyamina runs about 05:10-23:15 on weekdays, and nothing runs on Shabbat.
